Texas Education Agency to delay reporting of STAAR test results

FORNEY, Texas (Forney Independent School District, Larry Coker) β€” Forney ISD has been notified by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) Commissioner Mike Morath that the results of the 3rd through 8th grade STAAR spring 2016 tests will not be released to districts statewide until July 2016.

The results were originally scheduled to be delivered to all school districts in June.

Due to ongoing issues and concerns with reporting from Educational Testing Services (ETS), the company contracted by the TEA to verify STAAR test results, the TEA has requested that ETS conduct additional quality control checks and verifications to ensure that results for all students for which answer documents or online records were submitted are reported error-free and attributed to the correct campus and district.

In a statement released to districts statewide, the TEA stated, β€œThe Texas Education Agency apologizes for this delay and understands the significant inconvenience late reporting will cause students, parents, teachers, and school district personnel.”

Given delays in reporting, the TEA is altering the timeline for sending results to families. Forney ISD will provide results to parents as soon as possible, once reporting issues are resolved and final data files and reports are provided.
