TERRELL, Texas — The Tanger Outlet Center in Terrell, Texas, raised $3,500 to support three area schools through the TangerKIDS grant program.
“In keeping with Tanger Outlets’ mission to support the future of our children, the TangerKIDS Grants program is designed to award grant money to local schools in the communities where Tanger Outlet Centers are located,” the company stated in a press release last week. “Grants awarded this month will benefit schools for the 2016-2017 school year.”
Locally, W.H. Burnett Elementary School in Terrell, Texas, Wills Point Middle School in Wills Point, Texas, and Kaufman High School in Kaufman, Texas, received funding through the grant program.
Funding for the grant program is provided in part by coupon book sales. The program provides grants for “special projects, needed programs, or equipment,” according to Tanger.
“A substantial part of our mission at Tanger Outlets is to contribute positively to the communities in which we operate,” said Steven B. Tanger, President and Chief Executive Officer of Tanger Outlets. “A high quality education is instrumental to enhancing communities and we are proud to once again give back to these remarkable schools in the Terrell, Texas Area as part of our efforts to support students and educators across the country.”
Since 2012, the TangerKIDS program has raised and donated in excess of $540,000 in the 42 market areas served by Tanger across the United States.
