TERRELL, Texas — The Trinity Valley Community College Board of Trustees suspended President Glendon Forgey with pay during its Monday board meeting.
The board is set to consider an appointment of an interim President Pro-Tem during a special-called meeting on May 2, 2016.
The board was set to discuss an evaluation of Forgey during its Monday meeting but, instead, voted to table the item to discuss a complaint or charge regarding Forgey and eventually voting to suspend Forgey, according to the meeting’s minutes.
"The Board has been presented conflicting governmental documents by the College President without acceptable explanation,” according to a statement issued by the board.
“The Board members are elected by the citizens of the College District to oversee the college and its administrators, and to act in the best interest of the students and employees of TVCC,” the statement continued. “This is a responsibility that the Board takes very seriously.”
“The Board has determined that questions regarding the conduct of the President need to be fully investigated in order to fulfill its duties to the public,” read the statement.
Forgey has been president of the college since 2008 and was previously the vice president for administrative services and chief financial officer of Tallahassee Community College in Florida and, prior to that, was the business manager at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.
