FORNEY, Texas — The Warren Middle School and Forney High School cheer competition teams competed in the NCA State of Texas Championship at Dr. Pepper Arena in Frisco, Texas, over the weekend.
FORNEY, Texas — The Warren Middle School and Forney High School cheer competition teams competed in the NCA State of Texas Championship at Dr. Pepper Arena in Frisco, Texas, over the weekend.
Warren Middle School, under the direction of Caitlyn Daniels and manager Sydney Thrasher, was selected as the overall champion placing first in the middle school large team intermediate performance division which gave them their first State of Texas NCA Champion banner.
Forney High School, coached by Gayla Gonzalez and Sarah Cypert, was selected as 5A Station Champion in Time Out Cheer, Time Out Dance, and Fight Song, and placed second in the Performance Division.
Forney High School senior Sarah Allen “was offered an application to work for National Cheerleaders Association which is a very prestigious honor typically only offered to a few select seniors at this competition,” according to Forney ISD.
Members of the Warren Middle School competition squad are Ashley Jackson, Tanae Fletcher, Brooke Lantrip, Sydney Nelson, London Skipper, Reagan Court, Isabella Lopez, Brittany Baughman, Chloe Witherspoon, Rylee Boyd, Kayleigh Mitchell, Camryn Teer, Brooke Updike, Katelyn Wiggins, Alanna Henderson, and Meredith Snow.
Both squads compete at the NCA Nationals in Dallas, Texas, on January 22-24, 2016.
