Ten people are being treated for minor injuries after the Greyhound bus they were traveling in collided with a passenger vehicle on westbound US Highway 80 in Forney, Texas, near the FM 548 on-ramp. The accident took place at approximately 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, January 9.

Witnesses described the passenger vehicle side swiping the bus and the bus violently jerking in both directions before coming to a complete stop in the service lane. Because of the amount of injuries, additional emergency personnel were dispatched from Mesquite and Rockwall County.
According to the Forney Fire Department, the ten individuals were transported to local hospitals with only minor injuries. Several individuals were seen exiting the bus wearing neck braces. No official word has been released as to how the accident occurred but heavy rains could have been a major contributing factor.
