TERRELL, Texas — An 18-wheeler overturned on Spur 557 in Terrell, prompting a second ongoing HAZMAT cleanup on Kaufman County highways on Saturday.
The 18-wheeler lost control due to slick road conditions from recent rains, according to Terrell Police Department Corporal Zachary Boyd.
The 18-wheeler then struck a guardrail and overturned into a ditch along Spur 557 just west of Las Lomas Parkway overpass.
Boyd says no injuries were reported in the crash. The 18-wheeler, however, was leaking fuel which is requiring a hazardous material cleanup.
Eastbound Spur 557 is closed down to one lane.
Earlier today, a heavy-duty wrecker hauling a truck-tractor, avoiding a separate collision, struck a bridge and guardrail on eastbound Interstate 20 east of Terrell which prompted the complete closure of the highway at FM 429.
