KEMP, Texas — At least three people, possibly four, were airlifted to Dallas-area hospitals after a vehicle struck a tree near Kemp on Thursday afternoon.
Police say several of the vehicle’s occupants were not wearing seat belts at the of the crash.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, Texas Department of Public Safety spokesperson Staff Sergeant Kyle Bradford tells inForney.com.
Bradford says the vehicle, driven by a female, was driving northbound on County Road 4023 when, for unknown reasons, it veered off the road and struck a tree.
It is believed three of the passengers were not wearing a seat belt, according to Bradford.
At least three people, possibly four, were airlifted by CareFlite, ETMC, and Flight For Life medical helicopters to Dallas-area hospitals. Another was reportedly taken by ground ambulance.
