KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas β A majestic sighting was caught on camera on Sunday evening β high above the John Bunker Sands Wetland Center in Seagoville, Texas.
A high definition camera on a tower within the man-made wetlands captured the moment a pair of nesting bald eagles returned to their perch where they will begin preparing their nest for new eaglets in 2016. In addition to the video capturing their return, seen below, the center also has live 24/7 video of the nest, including night vision.
βKeep in mind, the pair of eagles will not be sitting in their nest 24/7,β stated the center. βThey will begin to prepare the nest for new eaglets in 2016.β
The pair returned on Sunday evening, according to the John Bunker Sands Wetland Center. The pair has been nesting in the wetlands since 2011 when their nest was spotted on a live high-voltage transmission line tower.
In 2014, the eaglesβ original nest atop the transmission line tower was relocated to a safer, newly-constructed tower to primarily serve as their new nesting location β approximately 1,200 feet from its original location.
