City of Forney to begin mosquito spraying May 8

FORNEY, Texas — The City of Forney will begin to proactively spray for mosquitoes on May 8, 2017, according to the city in a statement.

FORNEY, Texas — The City of Forney will begin to proactively spray for mosquitoes on May 8, 2017, according to the city in a statement.

Crews will use a water soluble spray to fog mosquitos between the hours of 8:30 p.m. and 6 a.m. twice monthly through October.

The City of Forney says the spray will not harm animals but advises residents to bring animals inside and close windows due to residue and a mild odor. Residents are also asked to take the following precautions:

• Bring your pets inside for the night and bring in or cover any outdoor pet dishes


• Cover ornamental ponds and birdbaths.


• Do not go outside during spray time. 


• Keep windows and doors closed during spraying.


• If you have health problems, such as asthma, take special precautions as directed by your doctor, if necessary.
