KAUFMAN - On Tuesday, the Kaufman County Commissioners approved a year-long 4-day/10-hour workweek trial for the county’s Human Resources staff.
Several departments already have a four-day, ten-hour working model, such as the Clerk’s office and the Precinct 1 road and bridge crew. This year's long trial now begins for human resources.
Judge Jakie Allen told inForney.com that this trial has proven effective at giving employees more flexibility, which leads to better retention.
“Giving employees more flexibility and a three-day weekend is proven to help retention,” said Judge Allen. “We have the best county staff in all of Texas, and we look forward to seeing the results of this year-long trial.”
The Court also approved the appointment of Joseph Russell to the Kaufman County Court at Law Bench, with the appointment set for July 1st. Russell won the Republican Primary Run-Off election in early June.
