CRANDALL, Texas — Crandall Independent School District Board of Trustees President Robyn Foster has resigned her position on the board, according to an email to staff last week and a letter posted to the district's website.

Fosters' resignation is effective today, October 1, 2018, according to both sources.

Crandall ISD Board of Trustees Vice President Omega Hawkins will serve as the acting president until the board votes on new appointments — which is expected to occur at their next regularly scheduled meeting on October 15, 2018.

No decisions have been made as to how the vacancy in the board will be filled, according to an emailed response to inForney.com from Crandall ISD district spokesperson Erin McCann on Thursday.

Fosters' husband, 51-year-old Christopher Foster, is alleged to have stolen approximately $40,000 from the Crandall-Combine Baseball Association during his tenure as its treasurer. He turned himself into the Madison County Sheriff's Office on a Crandall Police Department warrant for theft between $30,000 and $150,000, a third-degree felony, on September 17, 2018.

Crandall Police Department Chief Dean Winters says the theft investigation remains ongoing.

Sources tell inForney.com police are investigating additional theft allegations at organizations Foster may have had associations with or volunteered with in the past.
