TERRELL, Texas — 66-year-old Dovie Gunn of Crandall, Texas, was killed after sustaining severe injuries in a motorcycle crash in Terrell on Sunday, according to police.
Police say Gunn was pronounced deceased on Tuesday at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, where she was airlifted following the crash.
The crash occurred on Sunday, July 28, 2019, at approximately 3:37 p.m. in the 500 block of North Farm-to-Market (FM) 429. Witnesses told police two motorcycles were traveling southbound and, as they were exiting a curve in the road, were in the process of passing a slower vehicle when another vehicle came into view driving northbound.
"The first motorcycle a 2018 Indian, driven by Gary Gunn (69) of Crandall, was in the process of passing when he slowed to move back over into the right lane of traffic," read a statement from the Terrell Police Department. "The following motorcycle, a 2014 Harley Davidson, driven by Dovie Gunn (66), also of Crandall, was unable to slow and struck the first motorcycle causing her to lose control and go down."
"Terrell Police Department offers our condolences to the family for their loss," continued the statement.
The Terrell Police Department Accident Investigations Team continues to investigate the crash.
