In a testament to the community's resilience, the Kaufman County Emergency Management Coordinator, Steve Howie, has been speaking with people around the county as damage reports come in.

“As the morning progresses, we are getting reports of extensive damage to areas around the County,” said Howie. “Madix Warehouse Building C in Terrell has suffered extensive damage, as well as the developments of Abor and Forge Pond in Forney.”

The straight-line winds that moved through Kaufman County have knocked down trees and power lines. Commercial stores and businesses have also reported damage.
