The newly formed Forney Downtown Business Association (FDBA) met Saturday morning, June 15, to do their part in revitalizing historic downtown Forney.
Members and volunteers of the association picked up trash, swept and pulled weeds from the sidewalks, and power-washed the streets and sidewalks in preparation for new parking space and curb paint. Forney Downtown Business Association President Joe Dan McBeth thanked everyone for helping and told volunteers that they were there because they take “pride in Forney, and pride in downtown.”
Forney's Public Works Director Chirs Metz was given special thanks for his time in helping coordinate the project with the city and TxDOT. “Chris was instrumental in organizing the event and planning the painting crew to follow up after the project. He even gave his Saturday morning volunteering to run one of the power-washers,” said FDBA member Mathew Malone.
The painting crew worked through the night last night to complete the project. This is just one of many projects the Forney Downtown Business Association will do to spruce up downtown.
