KAUFMAN, Texas — Kaufman county voters have turned out in record numbers to cast their ballot in the midterm election.

Through Sunday afternoon totals released this morning by county officials, 15,452 voters had voted in person at the four polling locations throughout the county thus far.
Forney sub courthouse leads in early voting numbers with 7,069 voters. Terrell has seen 3,127 voters, while the Kemp sub courthouse has had 1,356. The remaining 3,900 voters have voted in Kaufman at the county’s courthouse annex.
According to Brenda Samples, Kaufman County tax accessor and collector who oversees the county’s election department there has also been an increase in the number of registered voters.
According to county roll’s there have been an additional 3,156 people to register since the March primaries, increasing the total number of registered voters to over 72,000.
Early voting continues through this Friday, November 2, with polls open from 7 AM to 7 PM each day at all 3 sub courthouses and the county annex building.
The election will be held next Tuesday, November 6. Voters can vote at any of the polling locations available on the county’s website or by clicking here.
