Southbound Pinson Road, over the overpass, has also reopened with the use of one of the northbound lanes.
ORIGINAL [10:11 a.m.] β Eastbound U.S. Highway 80 is closed Wednesday morning after a rock hauler struck the Pinson Road bridge and overturned.
The crash occurred at approximately 10:10 a.m. on eastbound U.S. Highway 80 at Pinson Road in involved a hydraulic rock hauler.
According to crash investigators, the rock hauler's trailer was in the upright position and struck the bridge.
Eastbound U.S. Highway 80 is being closed at the East Broad Street exit where traffic is being diverted onto the south service road.
Southbound Pinson Road, on the overpass, is also closed due to "extensive damage" while Texas Department of Transportation officials inspect the bridge.
City officials are encouraging eastbound traffic to utilize Interstate 20.
No injuries have been reported in the crash.
