ORIGINAL [Dec. 1] — One person was airlifted to a Dallas-area hospital with life-threatening injuries after a crash with an 18-wheeler on Saturday morning.
A 2006 Chrysler Touring and an 18-wheeler were both traveling westbound on Interstate 20 on Saturday morning when the Chrysler made an unsafe lane change in front of the 18-wheeler, Texas Department of Public Safety Staff Sergeant Kyle Bradford told inForney.com.
The rear-end of the Chrysler made contact with the front of the 18-wheeler, causing it to further spin-out in front of the 18-wheeler, according to Bradford. Both vehicles then traveled through the center median and partially blocked the eastbound lanes.
The driver of the Chrysler was airlifted to Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the 18-wheeler was uninjured.
As of 12:33 p.m., Bradford says the westbound lanes are beginning to reopen. The eastbound lanes reopened earlier.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.
