Fatal Shooting in Forney Leaves One Dead, Two Injured; 16-Year-Old Arrested for Capital Murder

FORNEY, Texas — A tragic shooting incident on Saturday night has left one young man dead and two others injured in a neighborhood near Juniper Drive, according to the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office.

Incident Details

Deputies responded to reports of gunfire around 8:00 p.m. on November 1 in the 2100 block of Juniper Drive. Upon arrival, they discovered a 19-year-old male from Forney deceased at the scene. Authorities quickly identified a 16-year-old male, also from Forney, who was detained on-site as a suspect.

Victims and Rescue Efforts

While securing the area, law enforcement learned that two additional victims had sought refuge at a nearby Walmart in Forney. Officers from the Forney Police Department located these individuals: a 19-year-old man from Corsicana suffering from gunshot wounds, and a 24-year-old Corsicana man who was present during the incident but was not injured.

The wounded 19-year-old was transported to a Dallas hospital and is currently in stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit.

Arrest and Investigation

Investigators have since identified the 16-year-old as the alleged shooter. He has been arrested and charged with Capital Murder. Due to his age, he has been placed in a juvenile detention facility.

The Sheriff’s Office reports that detectives believe this shooting was an isolated incident, assuring the community that there is no ongoing threat to public safety. The investigation is still active, and no further details are available at this time.
