KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas, has issued a Flash Flood Watch for Kaufman County due to ongoing heavy rains and the threat of severe weather Sunday afternoon.
KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas, has issued a Flash Flood Watch for Kaufman County due to ongoing heavy rains and the threat of severe weather Sunday afternoon.
The Flash Flood Watch is sent to expire Tuesday morning.
“Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected to move through North Texas beginning on Sunday and continuing through late Monday night,” stated the NWS.
“The heaviest of rains are expected Sunday afternoon and evening and will continue into late Sunday night,” stated the NWS. “Lingering showers and a few thunderstorms will be possible through the week.”
Large hail and damaging winds are the primary threat and a small threat of tornadoes exists this afternoon and early evening for the area south of a line from Comanche, Hillsboro, and Centerville.
“Rain and storm chances diminish late Tuesday and will remain low through the end of the next week,” stated the NWS.
