Forney's Christmas on Main has been officially canceled according to City of Forney officials. The city previously announced that the parade of lights would be canceled due to inclement weather conditions.
“The weather forecasts show extreme cold and icy temperatures throughout the next several days. This could produce hazardous conditions for vendors and attendees so the City has determined the cancellation is in the best interest of the safety for all involved,” reads a statement from the City of Forney.
“The City is looking at a possible reschedule date for this event and will notify the public if a new date is determined,” according to the statement.
The Forney Lions Club announced they would be seeking an alternate way to adopt angels on the Angel Tree which would be determined at a later date. If Christmas on Main is rescheduled, the tree will be there.
inForney.com will post updates on Christmas on Main and the Lions Club Angel Tree when they become available.
