Kaufman County - In the aftermath of Tuesday’s storm, Forney post-pones Mustang Creek Music and Arts Festival until June 15th. Terrell City Convenience Station is inaccessible until further notice, asks residents to place brush behind curbs, and allow for multiple pickups from contractors.

In a press release, the City of Forney said personnel are focused on restoring the city after the storm.

“This decision was not made lightly, as many factors were considered. Our top priority is ensuring the safety of our citizens and allowing those affected by Tuesday morning's storms to focus on cleanup and recovery. Additionally, these events rely on personnel from multiple city departments, and with cleanup and repairs as our main priority, we want our staff to be able to concentrate fully on restoring our city.”

The City hopes to see everyone on June 15th from 1-10 p.m. for a great time celebrating the city with local vendors and music.

In Terrell, Alison Walker shared an update on tree brush pickup.

“Due to the excessive rain from Wednesday's storm, the Terrell City's Convenience Station is inaccessible for brush drop off for the foreseeable future. The City is asking all residents to place brush in their yards, behind the curb in a location without overhead obstruction. If at all possible, residents should continue to adhere to the City's policy of ensuring that no pieces are longer than 8 ft. or in excess or 75 lbs," stated the update.

"Residents may have to make multiple stacks to dispose of the large amount of storm debris. Due to the volume of brush within the City, it may take contractors multiple trips before all brush is cleared. No construction or household debris should be included for collection. Trash and bulk collection should be placed in a separate container.”
