KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas, has extended a Heat Advisory for much of North Texas, including Kaufman County, until Wednesday evening.
KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas, has extended a Heat Advisory for much of North Texas, including Kaufman County, until Wednesday evening.
“High temperatures will range from 95 to 101 degrees with afternoon heat index values up to 105 to 108 degrees,” stated the NWS.
The Heat Advisory was extended until 8 p.m. on Wednesday.
“Heat exhaustion or heat stroke can quickly occur to anyone working or participating in outdoor activities,” stated the NWS.
“Be sure to check on persons with health problems and the elderly, as they are the most susceptible to heat exhaustion and heat stroke,” stated the NWS. “Never leave young children or pets in an enclosed vehicle, even for a short time, as temperatures can quickly rise to life-threatening levels.”
The NWS warns people to take precautions to protect yourself and others from the heat. Drink plenty of water and wear light-weight, light-colored clothing.
