KAUFMAN—The first two days of early voting in the 2024 General Election saw just under 10,000 votes. The Elections Administrator says the average is 500-600 votes per hour.

“As people are voting, we are seeing between 500-600 votes an hour in Kaufman County,” said Elections Administrator Tandi Smith. “The busiest location has been the Forney Sub-Courthouse, with the Kaufman Library a close second.”

The presidential election and local propositions are on the ballot. Forney has Proposition A for a Crime Control and Prevention District, and Crandall ISD has a tax ratification.

Smith is thankful for the Election workers around the county who work hard to ensure a free and fair election and that the public is served quickly. As a way to say thank you, Smith and her team are taking Election workers breakfast on Wednesday morning.
