KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — Kaufman County received nearly 4 inches of rain in the past 48 hours, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas, which issued a Flood Warning for the East Fork Trinity River near Rosser on Monday morning.

The highest recorded rainfall total in Kaufman County came in at 3.65 inches in east southeast Kaufman County which was recorded at 7 a.m. on Monday. Other measurements from across the county include 3.55 inches in southern Kaufman County, 3.39 inches in Cottonwood, 3.31 inches in Crandall, and 2.75 inches and 1.5 inches at two Terrell sites.
On Monday morning, the NWS issued a Flood Warning for the East Fork Trinity River near Rosser for Tuesday evening until Thursday morning, or until the warning is canceled.
At 10:30 a.m. on Monday, the river, which has a flood stage of 31 feet, was measured at 23.61 feet and expected to rise above flood stage by Tuesday evening.
The river is expected to crest near 32 feet on Wednesday morning and return below flood stage by Wednesday evening.
“Minor flooding of farm and ranch land is expected near the river,” stated the NWS. “A few rural roads will be inundated.”
