US HWY 80 at FM 460 was closed early Sunday morning, September 23, 2012, in Forney due to a multi-car accident involving an 18-wheeler tractor and trailer. Both lanes of eastbound HWY 80 and the eastbound frontage roads were closed.
The 18-wheeler veered off the highway and overturned in the ditch in between HWY 80 and the frontage road. The frontage road is expected to remain closed for several hours as crews work to overturn the tractor and trailer and remove it from the ditch. Emergency crews were able to clear the wreckage from HWY 80 and re-open a single lane in about 30 minutes.
No major injuries are being reported at this time. Forney Police Department, Forney Fire Department, and ETMC responded to the accident.
