For Kevin Morrow, service has always been a way of life. At just 18 years old, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he dedicated three years as an engineman aboard the USS Peleliu. He worked on everything from diesel engines to HVAC systems, supporting critical missions during Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm.
Kevin’s time in the Navy was just the beginning of a life filled with hard work, perseverance, and love for his family. But in 1994, at just 23 years old, everything changed—he was diagnosed with end-stage renal failure.
For six years, Kevin and his doctors fought to restore his kidney function, but when medications failed, he began dialysis in 2000. A year later, he was blessed with a deceased donor kidney, which gave him 22 more years of life.
But now, Kevin needs another transplant.
A Second Chance at Life
A decade after his first transplant, Kevin was diagnosed with diabetes, further complicating his health. Now, his kidney function has declined once again, and he is hoping for a living kidney donor—one that could give him the gift of more time with his family.
Kevin and his wife, Shalon, have been married for six years and share a loving family, including five children and a granddaughter. Despite his health challenges, Kevin remains active, finding joy in watching sports, listening to music (gospel, rap, R&B, and jazz), and traveling. Some of his favorite memories come from visiting Australia, and he dreams of one day returning to Dubai to witness how much it has transformed since he first visited in the 1990s.
Now, he is asking for your help.
