FORNEY, Texas — North Forney High School senior Kaden Kinnart was recognized by the Forney City Council on Tuesday night in recognition of his acceptance to the United States Military Academy at West Point.
Kinnart, who is senior class president and top four percent in his class, reports for R-Day, or reception day, on June 27, 2016.
“Your acceptance to the United States Military Academy at West Point is an exceptional honor reserved for our nation’s most promising young men and women,” states a certificate of recognition presented to Kinnart on Tuesday night by Mayor Pro-Tem Ray Stephens, a retired United States Marine.
“You have demonstrated the exceptional qualities in academics and leadership, which is expected of our young officers in our great military,” the certificate continues. “Our nation, more than ever, needs men and women such as you to protect our freedom.”
“You have answered the call to serve and to protect our nation, and the citizens of Forney appreciate and respect all that you do, and will do in your future endeavors while serving our great military,” concluded the certificate.
“It’s really difficult to be accepted into one of our service academies,” Stephens said. “It must say a lot about this young kid, not only him, but his parents.”
