The rain didn't stop the hundreds of people from attending this year's 5th annual Turkey Trax Auto Show in Forney on Sunday, November 11, 2012. Event coordinators were also able to add a special Veterans Day ceremony to this year's auto show.
Just over a hundred cars registered for this year's car show and several Forney residents drove away with awards. InForney.com also gave away a “Judge's Choice Award” that was awarded based on votes taken during the event. Nearly 50 votes were cast and the winner of inForney.com's Judges Choice Award was presented to Troy Clark of Rockwall and his red and white 1962 convertible Corvette. (pictured right)
There were several different awards given out by Gabriella Equia, Unique Karz event promoter, for various different categories and classes.
The 6-foot tall “Mayors Choice Award” went to Kurt Wojtowicz of Forney, Texas, driving a 1929 Ford Model A. The Unique Karz Car Show Promotor and Awards Choice went to Mark Hayden of Kaufman, TX, and his 1968 Chevrolet Camaro. The Fran Owans Award was presented to Ted Westover of Forney driving his 2013 Kenworth T800W Big Rig that had a patriotic theme.
Overall Best of Show Cars was presented to John Harvey of Forney driving a 1981 DeLorean DMC12. Overall Best of Show Truck 79' or younger went to George Kaufman of Forney driving a 1946 Ford Pickup. Best of Show Truck 80' or newer was presented to Chris and Brianne White of Seagoville driving a 2011 Chevy 3500 Silverado LTZ. Best of Show Motorcycle was awarded to Brian Stafford of Forney with his 2012 Harley Davidson.
