SEAGOVILLE, Texas — A Seagoville, Texas, home has been targeted twice by armed suspects in the past three weeks, once while a woman and her children were home, and police are releasing video surveillance and asking anyone with information to contact their department.
The original home invasion occurred on October 18, 2016, at the residence in the 2700 block of Maci Court in Seagoville, Texas.
Police say four men entered the unlocked front door of the home just moments after a woman and her teenage children returned from the State Fair of Texas. At least two of those suspects were armed with handguns.
According to a release at the time of the original incident, one of the suspects remained with the woman and her children while the other three “targeted and commenced to ransack a bedroom in the home.”
“The suspects obtained this victim’s handbag and an undisclosed amount of money from the home before fleeing the location,” stated the release.
Police again responded to the home on November 5, 2016, for a residential alarm. None of the residents were home at the time of the second incident in which police say there was evidence of forced entry.
Video surveillance of the second incident reveals three male suspects enter the home and quickly move upstairs — none remained on scene at the time of officers arrival. One of the suspects was armed with what police described as a high-capacity handgun.
“Two of the suspects made no attempt to cover their faces, however, the third suspect had his shirt pulled up over the lower half of his face as he crested the stairwell to the second floor,” stated a Monday release. “It is not confirmed at this time that anything was taken from the house.”
“Police are investigating the motive and seeking the identity of these suspects,” stated the latest release.
“Investigators have spoken with the adult residents of the home and neither the woman, or her boyfriend, claim to have any knowledge as to why this house has been targeted twice by armed suspects within a matter of a few weeks,” stated the release. “The investigation continues.”
