KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — There is a threat for severe storms for much of North Texas, including Kaufman County, tonight through Thursday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas.
The main threat of severe storms exist on Wednesday, mainly in the afternoon and evening hours, according to the NWS.
“There are two main areas of concern for severe storm development on Wednesday: near a dryline located west of Interstate 35 and also in warm, humid air east of the dryline; mainly along and east of Interstate 35/35W,” stated the NWS.
“Any storms will be capable of producing large hail, damaging winds, and isolated tornadoes,” stated the NWS.
Isolated storms overnight Tuesday and into Wednesday could produce quarter-size hail.
On Wednesday, the threat for severe storms will continue into the night as a cold front overtakes the drilling and moves east across North and Central Texas, according to the NWS.
