KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — A severe weather threat returns for Kaufman County overnight as storms sweep across North Texas into Monday morning.

“Scattered light to occasionally moderate rain is expected to continue across the region this evening,” stated the National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas.

“Overnight as a front approaches the region, showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop northwest of the region and then move east across North and Central Texas as a broken line,” stated the NWS.

“Additional showers and storms may also develop east of the line of storms,” stated the NWS. “Some of these storms may be strong or marginally severe with a threat for hail and strong winds.”

The storms will continue moving east Monday morning with a continued threat for strong or marginally severe storms, according to the NWS.

A pacific front will move east of the region Monday afternoon and bring an end to the rain with strong west and southwest winds with speeds of 15 to 25 miles per hour and gusts of 25 to 35 miles per hour continuing throughout the day. Monday afternoon highs will be in the mid 60s to 70s, according to the NWS.
