Forney, Texas – On October 12, 2013, the Kaufman County Environmental Co-op held a community cleanup event at Eastside Park on East Aimee Street.
Eastside Park has a basketball court and a small playground. According to Environmental Co-op Administrator Candice Boswell, the group “collected over 20 bags of trash by the playground, including broken glass, cigarettes, plastic bottles, foam cups, and more.”
Although it was raining, people from the Forney Lions Club, Forney Leos Club, Sharing the Love Foundation, and Girl Scouts Troop 2273 assisted with the cleanup.
Visit www.trashbusters.org for more information about future events around Kaufman County and surrounding areas. “As we say, anyone can litter but it takes special people to help clean it up,” said Boswell.
