TERRELL, Texas — U.S. Highway 80 has reopened in Terrell following a fatal hit-and-run pedestrian crash which occurred early Thursday morning. Police say they need the public's help identifying the vehicle which fled the scene.

Westbound U.S. Highway 80 was closed at Farm-to-Market (FM) 1392 and eastbound traffic was closed at Spur 557.
The Terrell Police Department and fire department responded to report of a seriously injured person in the roadway and, at the time of arrival, discovered a 59-year-old woman deceased of an apparent vehicular strike, according to Terrell Police Department Captain A.D. Sansom.
The victim was later identified by police as 59-year-old Gennie Valenda Madden of Terrell, Texas.
“Evidence at the scene indicates she was struck by a vehicle,” stated Sansom. “The suspect and vehicle fled the location in an unknown direction of travel.”
"There were several damaged pieces of vehicle debris from the suspected vehicle found at the scene, indicating the color of the vehicle to be blue," stated Sansom. "No make or model has been determined."
Police are seeking the public’s assistance tracking down the blue vehicle which likely has extensive front-end damage. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Terrell Police Department at (469) 474-2700.
On Friday, police said the vehicle may be a 2007 to 2010 Lincoln MKX.
