TERRELL, Texas (City of Terrell) — The City of Terrell, Texas, local sponsors of the Cedar Creek Watershed, and the United States Department of Agriculture-Natural Resources Conservation Service (USDA-NRCS) have completed the planning process to develop a Supplemental Watershed Plan and Environmental Evaluation for the rehabilitation needs of Floodwater Retarding Structure No. 87A, also known as New Terrell City Lake, which is located just west of the intersection of U.S. Highway 80 and Farm-to-Market Road 2728 near Elmo, Texas.
TERRELL, Texas (City of Terrell) — The City of Terrell, Texas, local sponsors of the Cedar Creek Watershed, and the United States Department of Agriculture-Natural Resources Conservation Service (USDA-NRCS) have completed the planning process to develop a Supplemental Watershed Plan and Environmental Evaluation for the rehabilitation needs of Floodwater Retarding Structure No. 87A, also known as New Terrell City Lake, which is located just west of the intersection of U.S. Highway 80 and Farm-to-Market Road 2728 near Elmo, Texas.
This project is part of the Small Watershed Rehabilitation Amendments of 2000 (Section 313, PL 106-472). This legislation authorized the USDA-NRCS to work with local community leaders and watershed sponsors to rehabilitate aging watershed dams built under Public Law 78-534, Public Law 83-566, and the Pilot Watershed programs.
The City of Terrell and NRCS are hosting a public informational meeting to present the Supplemental Watershed Plan and the Preferred Alternative for rehabilitation of the structure. This meeting will be a follow-up to the meeting held on March 26, 2015. Meeting date, time, and location are as follows:

The meeting will begin at 3:00 p.m. There will be a brief overview about the proposed rehabilitation study. You will have an opportunity to provide either written or verbal comments during the meeting. Comments will be accepted through September 28, 2015.
