The Breakfast Club is set to hit the stage at 7:00 p.m. and play until 9:00 p.m. The gates will open at 6:00 p.m. and tickets will be sold for $8. The City of Forney and the Parks and Recreation Department have set a couple of guidelines on the City of Forney's website for this event:
"Permitted Items:
- Blankets / Lawn Chairs (as long as crowd size permits)
- Cooler 12"x17"x12" and smaller
- Cloth bags / Soft packs 12"x17"x12" and smaller
- Binoculars
Alcoholic beverages are NOT permitted"
This concert will be the first concert put on by the City of Forney and its newly hired Special Events Coordinator Alexa Tiesman. The Forney City Council was recently presented plans for the Spellman Amphitheater that included four national acts, six regional acts, and twelve local acts. This concert will be considered a regional act and will be a good indicator for future operating costs for the Spellman Amphitheater. Preliminary costs for the event are around $4,400 for the booking of the band and a sound engineer. Actual event costs will be determined after the event has completed and the city has had time to compile the cost of city staff and other event related expenses.
