KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Tornado Watch for portions of North Texas, including Kaufman County until 2 a.m. Monday, October 21, 2019.
LATEST 10:11 p.m. From NWS: Concerned that a new tornado could form with the Kaufman County storm. Nice hook echo on radar, but not a strong circulation signature yet. Those in Kaufman and Post Oak Bend City need to be taking shelter!
LATEST: As of 9:48 p.m., the NWS was tracking a possible tornado east of Ferris which was traveling towards Combine.
Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Kaufman County until 10:30 p.m.
According to the NWS, thunderstorms accompanied by a cold front on Sunday night should eventually organize into a line, moving southeast through the region overnight.
"Some of these storms could be severe, with damaging winds and large hail the primary threats," stated the NWS. "Although the line will move fairly quickly, heavy rain will occur, particularly east of the I-35 corridor where some flooding issues may arise."
Above normal temperatures and breezy conditions will return to western portions of North Texas on Wednesday, likely reigniting fire weather concerns.
Another cold front will bring thunderstorm chances back to the region on Thursday.
