KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas, issued a Tornado Watch for Kaufman County in anticipation of severe weather impacting the region on Tuesday.
KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas, issued a Tornado Watch for Kaufman County in anticipation of severe weather impacting the region on Tuesday.
The Tornado Watch is in effect until midnight Tuesday. Kaufman County will likely face severe weather between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m., according to the NWS.
“A dryline is expected to move into the western counties of North and Central Texas this afternoon,” stated the NWS. “Scattered thunderstorms are expected to form along the dryline mid to late afternoon.”
“These storms will then move east and form into a squall line as they approach the I-35 corridor.”
The line of storms will move east across the rest of the region overnight.
Damaging winds, localized flooding, and very large hail, with the possibility of isolated tornadoes are the main threats, according to the NWS.
The threat for localized flooding is better east of I-35 overnight.
