KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas, has issued a Wind Advisory for all of north and central Texas this evening as strong north winds move in behind an Arctic cold front.
KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas, has issued a Wind Advisory for all of north and central Texas this evening as strong north winds move in behind an Arctic cold front.
A Wind Advisory is in effect from 3 p.m. until midnight.
Sustained winds of 25 to 30 miles per hour are expected with wind gusts up to 40 miles per hour, according to the NWS.
“Secure loose objects and holiday decorations that could be blown around in the wind,” stated the NWS.
Wind chill readings will fall into the teens after sunset and to near zero degrees by early Sunday morning, according to the NWS.
Resultant wind chills will be in the teens and single digits overnight.
“Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles,” stated the NWS. “Boaters should use extra caution when venturing onto area lakes.”
“Residents may wish to take action to secure trash cans, lawn furniture, and other lightweight outdoor objects that may be blown around in the strong winds,” stated the NWS.
