FORNEY, Texas (City of Forney) – City residents will be able to sleep more soundly, as the City of Forney submitted a notice of establishment of a Quiet Zone to the Federal Railroad Administration, the final step of the Quiet Zone process. As of August 8, the Union Pacific Railroad will no longer be able to sound their horns through the designated Quiet Zone, which includes the Bois d’ Arc, Elm, Center and Chestnut Street crossings, along with the FM 548 crossing.
