HEARTLAND, Texas — An off-duty Crandall Fire Department firefighter, a woman, and a young girl are credited with saving the life of a toddler on Tuesday night in a near-drowning incident at the Heartland community pool.

AUSTIN, Texas (Texas Department of Public Safety) – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is warning residents that warmer weather places children at greater risk of injury or death if left unattended in a vehicle. Every year children die from heatstroke after being left in a vehicle or entering a vehicle unnoticed. A child should never be left unattended in a vehicle.

KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas (Atmos Energy) -- Atmos Energy crews and contractors will oversee a controlled release of natural gas on June 22, 2016. The controlled release will occur between the hours of 7 a.m. and 12 p.m. in the areas of Post Oak Bend and Ola, Texas. The Company will be working on a section of natural gas pipeline in the area as part of normal, routine maintenance operations.
