COLLEGE STATION, Texas – No. 7 Texas A&M moved to 3-0 on the season with their 38-10 victory over Rice University on Saturday night in College Station.
The Aggies went 21-7 before the half despite an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on the Aggie bench recalled a 93-yard touchdown return by North Forney's Armani Watts after a field goal block late in the second quarter. The penalty called back the touchdown and resulted in a 35-yard return for Watts.
Watts also completed 6 total tackles, 4 solo and 2 assisted, en route to a 38-10 victory over Rice. Aggies' quarterback Kenny Hill threw for four touchdowns and 300 yards.
In a post-game press conference, Texas A&M Head Coach Kevin Sumlin said about Armani, “You're never going to accuse him of not playing hard.”
The Aggies will play in Dallas, Texas, next week on Saturday, September 20, 2014, against Southern Methodist University (0-2) at Gerald J. Ford Stadium.
