STARKVILLE, Miss. โ€” The No. 12 Mississippi State Bulldogs (5-0, 2-0) handed the No. 6 Texas A&M University Aggies (5-1, 2-1) their first loss of the season on Saturday, October 4, 2014, in Starkville, Mississippi, at Davis Wade Stadium.

The Aggies were first to score on their opening drive near the 13-minute mark of the first quarter off a 13-yard pass from Kenny Hill to Josh Reynolds โ€” the Aggies have been first to score in every game of 2014. Unfortunately for the Aggies, the Bulldogs contested the touchdown with one of their own and held the lead the remainder of the game going 48-31 and outscoring the Aggies in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd quarters.

North Forney High Schoolโ€™s Armani Watts, a true-freshman starter, completed seven total tackles, all solo. Wattsโ€™ seven tackles ranked him second in defensive stats for the game behind Myles Garret who completed 10 total tackles, five solo and one sack for a loss of eight yards.

The Aggies will next play the No. 11 University of Mississippi at Kyle Field in College Station, Texas, on Saturday, October 11, 2014.

With the loss, the Aggies dropped to No. 14 in the polls.
