FORNEY, Texas โ The North Forney High School softball team has remained undefeated in the playoffs and advanced to the regional semifinals for the third year in a row with a 7-1 win over The Colony.
Last Friday, the Falcons played The Colony in a one-game quarter final matchup at Plano East High School. The Falcons scored five runs in the first inning and would later score two more runs en route to their 7-1 victory.
Pitcher Andrea Decareau only allowed two hits and struck out six batters, according to the districtโs website.
The Falcons will play Lufkin High School in a best-of-three series in the regional semi-finals.
Tentatively, all games will be played at The Brook Hill School in Bullard, Texas, with Game 1 scheduled for Thursday at 7 p.m., Game 2 on Friday at 7:30 p.m., and Game 3, if needed, on Saturday at 4 p.m. Schedule is subject to change based on weather.
The last two years, the Falcons advanced to the regional semifinals and faced-off against Hallsville High School each time, losing 4 to 2 and 5 to 1. A win this week would break a new school record for going the furthest in the playoffs for the young team that has fielded a playoff team each year it had a varsity squad.
