FORNEY, Texas — North Forney High School (1-8, 0-6) received the kick against top-ranked District 12-5A Mesquite Poteet High School (8-1, 6-0) at City Bank Stadium and scored on their first play of scrimmage. Unfortunately for the Falcons, it proved to be the only trick in their bag at the Friday night, Halloween game.

Poteet High School went on to score 42 unanswered points on 420 total yards — 13 in the first, 22 in the second, and 7 in the third — for a final score of 42-7 in Poteet's favor.
Darius Palmer led North Forney’s 79-total-yard offense with 50 yards on 8 carries and a 44-yard touchdown run seconds into the game. James Nixon carried 7 for 29 yards and Hunter Herndon snuck in 6 quarterback keepers for 20 yards.
Poteet’s Deandre McNeal caught two for touchdowns and rushed a third.
North Forney High School will play cross-town rival Forney High School next week for the Unity Bowl at City Bank Stadium in Forney, Texas.
