FORNEY, Texas — Both Forney football teams kept their opponents from scoring on Friday night but it was Kaufman and Crandall who pulled out impressive wins over Terrell and Canton, respectively.

FORNEY, Texas — Both Forney football teams kept their opponents from scoring on Friday night but it was Kaufman and Crandall who pulled out impressive wins over Terrell and Canton, respectively.

North Forney (1-2) defeated Dallas Molina (0-3) handily, 62-0, at Kincaide Stadium. The Falcons went into halftime leading 55-0 — forcing a running clock in the second half. A full-game recap will be available in the morning here on inForney.com.

Forney (3-0) defeated Fort Worth Eastern Hills for a 49-0 homecoming win at City Bank Stadium. Stay tuned for the Gonzo Report later tonight.

District 12-5A competitor, Terrell, was handed their first loss of the season by long-time rival Kaufman, a District 8-4A competitor. Kaufman took the early lead and stomped out the Tigers run game. With a late-game touchdown, the Kaufman Lions defeated Terrell, 28-12. The win makes it the first Kaufman win over Terrell since 1959.

The most impressive win on the night goes to Crandall for a nail-bitter 24-21 win over Canton. Canton took a 7 point lead early in the 1st quarter and went into halftime with a 21-7 lead. Both teams would remain scoreless in the 3rd quarter. Crandall tied the game late in the 4th quarter and, with seconds on the clock, sealed the win with a 32-yard field goal to end regulation.

Scurry-Rosser defeated First Baptist, 35-0, scoring at least once in every quarter.

District 12-5A

Garland (2-1) defeated Rockwall-Heath (2-1) 20-16 at AT&T Stadium. Garland scored their game-winning touchdown with nine seconds left on the clock.

West Mesquite (2-1) defeated Red Oak 50-13 at Mesquite’s E.H. Handy Stadium.

Royse City amassed more than 60 points against Joshua for a final score of 61-24 at Owl Stadium. Royse City has scored more than 60 points against their opponents in back-to-back games.

Mesquite Poteet goes 1-2 in non-district, having lost a close competition against Wylie East last week 50-41, with a 42-16 win over Richardson Berkner.

North Mesquite pushed South Garland to 0-3 on the season, handing them a 49-0 loss at Garland’s H.B. Johnson Stadium.
