FORNEY, Texas — The Forney High School boys basketball team (4-8) upset cross-town rival North Forney High School (8-4) on Tuesday night, 54-52.

FORNEY, Texas — The Forney High School boys basketball team (4-8) upset cross-town rival North Forney High School (8-4) on Tuesday night, 54-52.

North Forney, who clinched an early District 12-5A playoff berth last week with a 50-42 win over Mesquite Poteet, outscored Forney 29-19 in the first two quarters of the game. Forney, however, went 12 to North Forney’s 13 in the third quarter and more than doubled North Forney’s scoring in the fourth, 23-10.

Jajuan Tilley led Forney’s scoring with 19 points followed by Austin Wells(16), Matt Watson (7), Logan White (5), Jacob Gonzalez (4), Cameron Black (2), and Seth White (1). Scoring for North Forney were Tylor Hawkins (14), Zane McFarland (12), Parrish Price (10), JaCorey Jones (5), Jordan Wallis (5), Jacoby Armstrong (4), and Jaylin Winters (2).

North Forney will travel to Terrell High School for their next matchup on Friday, February 13, 2015, at 7 p.m. and Forney will travel to Royse City High School for their next matchup on the same date and time.
