Forney Extreme Girls team takes 1st place in North Texas Soccer Tournament of Champions invitational

FORNEY, Texas โ€” The U19 Forney Extreme Girls recreational soccer team competed in a two-day tournament and placed first overall in their division.

FORNEY, Texas โ€” The U19 Forney Extreme Girls recreational soccer team competed in a two-day tournament and placed first overall in their division.

The team competed against teams from all over north Texas in one of the nationโ€™s largest soccer tournaments on December 6 and 7, 2014, at Carpenter Park in Plano, Texas, and Richland College in Dallas, Texas, respectively.

The girls more than double their second place contender in their bracket with 25 points to get into the semi-finals. The team defeated Duncanville FC 3-1 to make it into the final game against Kilgore Crush who they beat 2-0.

โ€œThese girls brought home the championship and showed the meaning of Forney Unity,โ€ said Team Manager Tommy Bosher. The team is made up of players who compete on the Forney and North Forney High School soccer teams.

The team was coached by Coach George Martin and Assistant Coach Dexter Brewton.
