FORNEY, Texas — The Forney High School girls soccer team extended their district win streak to five with wins over West Mesquite and Mesquite Poteet.
On Saturday, Forney High School traveled to Mesquite’s E.H. Handy Stadium for the matchup against Mesquite Poteet. Forney High School won 2-0 with goals from Caylon McMillan and Kayleigh Phillips. Phillips headed in her goal off a chip from Macie McVay.
On Tuesday, February 10, 2015, Forney defeated West Mesquite 5-0 at Forney’s City Bank Stadium. Scoring for Forney were Mason Richardson (2), Kelsey Phillips, Gabbie Gleaves, and Kayleigh Phillips. Assisting were McMillan, Kayleigh Phillips (2), Mason Richardson, and Ashley Brewton, respectively.
With the wins, Forney (9-4-1, 5-0) remains first in District 12-5A with 15 points in the rankings followed by Royse City High School who they will play on Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at City Bank Stadium. Forney’s next match, however, will be played on the road against Rockwall-Heath High School on Friday, February 13, 2015.
