FORNEY, Texas — Forney High School sophomore Jaylon Hutchings was named the Forney High School Athlete of the Week earlier today.
The Forney High School Jackrabbits football team defeated Wills Point 56-21 in their season-opener on Friday. In that game, Hutchings was created for contributing to both offense and defense, according to the district’s website.
Hutchings completed 12 tackles with two for a lost yardage. He also recovered two fumbles and returned one for a 97-yard touchdown. In addition to the returned touchdown, Hutchings rushed for an 8-yard touchdown.
Forney will next play Dallas-Samuel at City Bank Stadium on Friday, September 4, 2015, at 7:30 p.m.
