FORNEY, Texas — Forney High School sophomore Leah Kuban was named the Forney High School Athlete of the Week, according to the district’s website.
Kuban, who is one of the Forney ISD team’s three captains, lead the team in four out of five events in the opening meet last week. In route to her top finishes, Kuban set new personal records in the 50 meter freestyle, 50 meter backstroke, 50 meter butterfly, and the 50 meter breast stroke.
As a freshman last year, Kuban qualified for the regional competition.
The team will next compete at North Lake College in Irving, Texas, on Saturday beginning at 9 a.m.
